AIBK Mombasa Chapter, led by the Chapter Chairman, Mr. Afroze Adam, and the AIBK CEO Mr. Eliud Adiedo held very fruitful discussions with the Commissioner of Insurance Mr. Godfrey Kiptum at the Sarova Whitesands Resort in Mombasa.
The retreat, organized by the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA), saw the brokers and regulator discuss, among other items, areas of mutual cooperation between the umbrella body and the regulator to see how to grow insurance uptake in the face of harsh economic environment. It also focused on ways of harmonizing third party claims around the COMESA Region.
Finally, the forum also addressed input from the private sector in light of anticipated changes in the health sector aimed at achieving Universal Health Coverage.
